About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Gray grew up on Signal Mountain in Tennessee, shaped by the beauty, complexity, and quiet contradictions of the Appalachian South.
Over the years, life has carried her from Tennessee to Wisconsin, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Seattle, and a few other places that have deepened her understanding of home, identity, and belonging.
She holds a master’s degree in the science of education with an emphasis in clinical mental health.
After losing her parents, her brother, and both grandparents within six short years, grief became the center of Elizabeth’s world. To make meaning of everything that happened, she began exploring her unknown family roots and tracing the generational trauma that had shaped the lives before her.
Through that process, she came to understand her position in the family story; and the humility reminded her that no one can ever truly escape where they come from.
Instead, the past waits beneath the surface, asking to be seen, understood, and transformed.
